Three prominent women held a drive to support women in need this winter. West Deerfield Township Supervisor Julie Morrison, Lake County Recorder of Deeds Mary Ellen Vanderventer, and LakeBluff Park Commissioner Sandy Hart spearheaded a collection of personal care items to aid local charities.

The drive took place Saturday, February 4th from 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M at Sunset Foods, 825 S. Waukegan Road in Lake Forest. Items collected included shampoos, soaps, toothpaste, diapers, and feminine hygiene products. Donations benefited Nicasa and Catholic Charities.

All three women are candidates for public office in the March 20 primary election. Supervisor Julie Morrison has been a long-time supporter of Nicasa and its Women’s Services program that operates in her township. Thank you to the three women who organized the event, Sunset Foods, and all those who stopped by to make a donation.
